This event and panel discussion will highlight why you should take part in continuing professional development (CPD).

Professional development has a number of benefits and approaching it with some key goals and planning can make a big difference. Within the CIPR, CPD can help you reach Accredited and Chartered PR Practitioner, as well as improve your confidence and widen your options. It can also help with transferrable skills and some of your learning may qualify for how your work or another institute may record your development journey.

This live webinar will be led by Abha Thakor, who is a founding Chartered PR Practitioner and a CPD advocate for the institute and other organisations for 20 years. She will talk about how CPD can be used as a roadmap and learning pathway. Abha will also share feedback on getting the most out of professional development from her efforts to support public service and other communications and technology professionals in their learning journeys.

Start your new CPD year with a plan aimed at supporting you
and your own professional and personal development

The CIPR and many work programmes start their 2022-2023 CPD cycle this April. This event will explore how the setting of objectives and learning goals can benefit you as you plan your work and career path for the year ahead.

Abha and a panel of PR practitioners, who have used the CIPR scheme, will share tips on how you can get the most out of the scheme, either as a new member or if you have been using it for many years. Panellists will join from both the CIPR Wessex region and the Local Public Services group, including Mandy Pearse, 2021 CIPR President.

There will be an opportunity for attendees to join a follow up CPD informal support session.

CPD points

You can claim 5 CPD points from attending the event on the CIPR’s scheme. The CPD scheme is open to both new and existing members of the institute.

If you’re not already a member, the scheme is a great way to start focusing on developing your skills and planning your career path.
