The CIPR Local Public Services Group will be launching the report from a national research project, undertaken in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, on Thursday 22 October 2015, 6pm to 8pm, at the CIPR Public Relations Centre, Russell Square, London.
The event will present the findings from focus groups which took place in venues across the UK, from Edinburgh to Exeter; and a series of interviews with Directors of Communications and Chief Executives.
The report which will examine the new challenges for public service communicators in the age of austerity and the training and development needs of those working within the sector.
We will be joined by Sarah Pinch, CIPR President, who has championed public service communications during her term in office; David Holdstock, Director of Communications at the Local Government Association, and Bridget Aherne, Head of Communications at Nottingham Fire, who hosted our Midlands Focus Group and is CIPR and IoD’s Director of the Year.
